Aussie Freedom Takes A Step Back
Lets hope this type of farcical "Big Brother" control doesn't head west in a hurry.
Southbank, one of Melbourne's biggest tourist areas, has band the use of cameras in the centre.
The Age sums up the situation nicely with a satellite photo of the area that can be found by anyone with Internet access on Google Earth.
Cory Doctorow, a well known author and outspoken civil liberty advocate, makes a mockery of it on the weblog Boing Boing.

It surprises me that Southbank management has been quite firm in the face of ridicule and opposition levelled against their policy. I suppose this may well become a test case for street photography.
