Boatpeople found off WA coast

EIGHT unlawful boat arrivals have been found on Ashmore Reef, in the Timor Sea north of Western Australia, Immigration Minister Amanda Vanstone said today. The eight people, whose gender, nationality and age were unknown, were apparently dumped there by people smugglers. "There are eight unlawful arrivals on Ashmore Reef apparently dumped by people smugglers," Senator Vanstone said in Canberra.
