After what is now a month of Israels insertion of it's forces in and out of Lebanon, has Israel achieved that that it set out to do?

Not a bad little article Nathaniel. Any predictions about who will break the ceasefire first?

I think you may find the ceasfire has already been broken. In the Guardian Unlimited I have just read a report whih says that:
“Israeli commandos have raided a Hezbollah stronghold deep in Lebanon, engaging in a fierce gunbattle.
The Lebanese government threatened to halt further troop deployments to protest what UN officials called a violation of the six-day-old ceasefire.
The office of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan issued a statement, labelling the operation a violation of the UN truce.”

I think you will find an accurate answer to that at the Wailing Wall. Mr Olmert now is at the height of squashing the snakes head so to speak, any relief of pressure at this point and it will turn to bite him. Of that I am sure. N.

Yes Pando, I agree. Now with the French/US lead UN campaign, to ponder and secure a peace deal, will Johnny not be too far behind with a peace-keeping force of our very own ???
