If my family is any indication, TV has a lot to fear from Internet.
Instead of watching TV, we are finding we like the CONTROL of what we see, and avoid programmes that blatantly manipulate viewers, not to mention minimising the advertising we are subjected to. We are all too impatient for drawn out shows with long ad breaks.
With several computers running all the time, we all share our “finds”, yet can be independent and in control.
And when the wider family gets together now, we gather round a computer to entertain each other. Things have certainly changed over the last year or so, with YouTube and similar sites.

I find I am spending less time watching TV and more time on the internet as well. I don’t know if I could get my parents to convert though!
YouTube is addictive and fun … I just hope they don’t saturate it with ads in the future.
