Elton Elton Elton
It doesn\'t rain it pours. Between Kylie, Robbie, Billie and Elton I\'m determined to get hold of at least one of this summer\'s big acts!
When it comes to scoring tickets I have had no luck.
When it came to Kylie, I lucked out after a strategically planned phone and internet campaign resulted in 40 frustrated minutes of error messages.
After recruiting friends for a collective assault at snaring Robbie tickets, we assumed between the three of us that someone would be able to get through, even with Ticketmaster privileges. No luck again. But then I found out the secret to others success.
The trick was to become a Robbie Williams member, which entitled you to early release tickets. Funny how you only find out these things after the event.
So now that Elton is coming I am determined to get ticket and have discovered that he also has an official site with special ticket offers once you join as a ‘Rocket member’.
According to Eltonjohn.com:
Rocket members can apply to buy special tickets for selected concerts when available.
Now I don’t know if it will be the case for the Perth show, but you can bet I am not taking any chances.
For me Elton is the ultimate. I’ll be the one in the front row on December 11.
Hopefully it will be a case of third time lucky!

I had a similar problem with getting Eric Clapton tickets.
I was all prepared at 8.30am on Monday, waiting for the online sales.
By 9.01am (1 minute after sales began) all the platinumm tickets were gone, and I had to settle for somewhere a fair way back and on an angle to the stage.
Apparently I could have got a “pre-sale” platinum ticket, had I known about it beforehand.
What the hell is pre-sale anyway. They are either selling, or they are not selling.
I guess I will still be there, but it still bites.

Yes, this presale stuff is a funny business! The ‘normal’ internet presales often just mean that you can get it if you’re a member of the ticket agency (which doesn’t cost any money, and usually you have to be a member to buy tickets anyway!
Thanks for letting us know about the Rocket membership, I will edit my post about it! I hope scalpers don’t read my blog

For all you diehard fans, get your tickets ahead of the rest (and at a premium price) by booking NOW through http://www.showbiz.com.au/ . Beats lining up in rain and hail, although be warned, they are not the cheapest seats. But who cares if this is your one and only chance to see Elton John!
