Judge allows $1m fraud case to proceed
PROSECUTORS can proceed with a fraud charge against a woman who allegedly helped her husband in his attempt to claim a $1 million insurance policy by falsely declaring his mother had died. Pavan Shivnani, 35, and his wife Kanchan Shivnani, 31, of East Perth, are jointly accused in the West Australian District Court of attempting to cash in the policy after getting a fake death certificate from a doctor in India.
