Rocker honours miner beer pledge

Dave Grohl, the lead singer of the Foo Fighters, is a man of his word. Last night, the musician finally raised glasses with the Beaconsfield miner Brant Webb. The drink, after the US rock band\'s acoustic concert at the Opera House, fulfils a promise the singer gave in May during Mr Webb and Todd Russell\'s 14-day underground ordeal in Tasmania. On the ninth day they were supplied with iPods. Mr Russell requested country music, while Mr Webb asked for the Foo Fighters.
