I don’t know who is being more melodramatic anymore - the Sheik or the media.
Yes, his comments were offensive, but so are half the other sexist things said on talkback radio.
I know it involved the serious crime of rape, but given that the man has publically apologised and appears to haave suffered personally from it, I for one am willing to move on.
I think this is also a case of cultural misundertanding.
I don’t condone what the Sheik said but there is also an argument for women in our society to take some repsonsibility for their acceptance of pornography (hell, just look at any current ad campaign) in our society.
