From Pixel to Print
Opening night of "From Pixel to Print" an interactive exhibition held by a group of Flickr.com members at the Perth Centre for Photography.
I've just gotten back from the opening night of a new interactive photograhy exhibition held at the Perth Centre for Photography (PCP) on Brisbane Street in Northbridge. The exhibition was the brain child of a number of ambitious members of the Flickr.com website, who belong to the \"Photographers in Perth\" group. The idea of the exhibtion was to bring some of the works that have been displayed online into the physical realm whilst retaining the interactivity and spirit of collaboration that the photo sharing website fosters.
Visitors were encouraged to leave notes of encouragement or critique below the photos and to attach stars next to those photos they considered their \"favourites\".
Opening night was great. A huge turn out had the place packed to capacity, with a lot of people getting into the spirit and commenting and favouriting many photos. It was also a great chance to get to meet a number of people from the website who have previously only corresponded online.
The exhibition will run for the next few weeks, and I'd urge anyone in Perth with an interest in photography to get down and see some of the great local talent that abounds.

Thanks for the write up
It was an amazing turnout and we are all happy with the way the exhibition was received. A special thanks goes out to the people that also purchased prints.
Great to see our esteemed Bronwen also make an appearance at the show.

I agree Matt, it’s worth going down to have a look at the exhibition these great Perth photographers have put together.
All of them are amateurs, but you’ll see from the pictures, that they have taken shots that are far from it.
It was really interesting to meet the guys involved in the project last night and they were happy to talk about how the photos all came about.
I loved the idea that people could contribute to the exhibition by leaving comments, and ‘tagging’ favourites with gold stars.
Go here to find out more about the photographers and their idea behind the exhibition.
