Cinema City to Close
Cinema City is will close its doors on 17 Otctober 2007, marking the end of an era for Perth Cinema goers. Soon, the only cinema in the CBD will be the Piccadily Cinema in the Hay Street mall, which largely shows films that have already been released at discount prices.

Its ironic that this is happening just at a time when people are starting to move back into the city. While its probably inevitable that it will be replaced with another cinema at some stage - its hard to think we will get some thing as special as our good old Cinema City.
What makes it worse is that the City is going to lose its best sushi bar as well!

On that note, the site is to be redeveloped into a big apartment complex
I vaguely recall hearing that the new building will have something similar to the current mall, but I don’t think that includes the sushi bar. Tis a shame that the redevelopment won’t keep any of the things that are good about Cinema City now …

That really sucks. I will be sure to go there before it closes.
