Pommie battles to bring Spirit to Mindarie

Recent arrival to Australia from the UK, Brian Taylor, is battling the high seas to bring The Spirit of Mindarie to - you guessed it - Mindarie (Marina), Western Australia.

Captain Brian (technically he admits he's not a captain) and his (first) merry crew departed Hervey Bay, north of Brisbane QLD earlier this month, WA bound, via the Top End, on the marine vessel formally (still?) known as The Spirit of Hervey Bay.

But it's been far from plain sailing. Fire alarms, sharks, cyclones, massive fuel costs, hull damage, near misses, accountants - they've had it all, and still they're less than half way to Perth.

• Will Captain Brian make it to Mindarie in one piece. mentally and/or physically?
• Will The Spirit of Mindarie make it to Mindarie in one piece, and when?
• Will Brian's accountant / credit card let him finish what he's started?
• Who will be there to greet the ship and her intrepid crew if/when they arrive?
• What is it with mad Englishmen and the midday sun?
• Why isn't Hervey spelt Harvey?
• Do one legged ducks swim in circles?
