Odious - isn’t news what’s important to you? I mean, I’m not really interested in this article, but it is informative. Is it the nature of the content that offends you? people are uptight about this topic, but that doesn’t make it irrelevant.

Broadly I would say it’s information that’s new and… interesting.
Interesting is, of course, subjective.
If you would prefer I’d said “BORING” so as to make blatant the fact I was stating an opinion, so be it:
BORING.

That’s fine. Please be bored by things. Please. But this is a site that allowed someone else to post a story they found “new and interesting”. Vote it down if you don’t like it, but don’t question it as news. That just makes you seem petty while trying to appear intelligent.

All I said is that I fail to see how it’s news. I’m allowed to have an opinion on that as much as I’m allowed to have an opinion on anything else.

I just posted something I thought may have limited appeal - but it appears to have pressed a few buttons ………………….. definition of “newsworthy” - “Of sufficient interest or importance to the public to warrant reporting in the media.” You work it out.
