Worsfold does not know who will play in midfield

At his regular news conference today, West Coast Coach John Worsfold declared that he did not know who would play in the midfield in the practice match against Essendon this Friday. Only 15 premiership players have been named in the 28 member squad which will face up to Essendon.
This follows the pre-season injury to Daniel Kerr, the forced retirement of disgraced player Ben Cousins and the defectment of Chris Judd to Carlton.
In other news, Chris Judd will play in Carlton's pre-season practice match against the Western Bulldogs this Friday. Judd has recovered from post season surgery and will lead his new side as Captain for the first time on the field.

Did you hear the conference? I believe this story is a valid reflection of the facts….and defectment seems to be an appropriate word to me. “conscious abandonment of allegiance or duty (as to a person, cause, or doctrine) ”

Defectment again; the word has no meaning. It is not a word. Just like this is not a story. The defintion you quote relates to defection.
I heard the press conference. It might be a reflection of the press conference but Worsfold’s remarks are unremarkable. You have inferred that he is at a loss when he was implying that he has not decided. Just as he may not have decided what to wear tomorrow.

The situation the club finds itself in is quite remarkable, whether you can see it or not. I think the fact that he has yet to decide who will play in the midfield is remarkable, in years gone by he would have known who his first three players in there would be. Now he does not know…the reasons for this are remarkable.

No it’s not. Worsfold like Paul Roos has no respect for the pre-season competition. So for him not to give much thought to team selection for a practice match is unremarkable. Only teams like Fremantle which have never won any competition take it seriously - having closed training sessions for unimportant matches - what a joke.

Any coach that is not doing what he needs to do to get his team ready for the season is a fool, of course it has become obvious that your coaching opinion is better than Mark Harvey’s.
