iPod’s are ok for watching YouTube and music videos, but I couldn’t see myself watching 1 hour + videos on my iPod Touch…too uncomfortable! I think ABC’s player is aimed more at watching on a laptop, desktop computer or a TV through a media centre setup.

Really … I know lots of people who are watching full length movies on their iPod Touch - there is definately a market for it.

True, just not me
However, there’s already iTunes, youTube, etc that cater for the iPod Touch. Once Australia actually catches up and starts offering tv/movies through iTunes, that will be covered and those users will get their content there rather than through the ABC’s direct service one would think.
