Aria honours Perth band "The Triffids"

"The Triffids" will be inducted into the 2008 ARIA Hall of Fame. While it is wonderful that this 1980's Perth band is being recognised, as a fan it is bittersweet, as they were largely ignored by the Australian media throughout their career

Sad, but finally! Recognition immortalised by the Hall Of Fame.
Only recently has there been more “attention” given to The Triffids, with their “Born Sandy Devotional” album being selected as one of four of the “Great Australian Albums” to be documented for an SBS series of the same name.
They also received a lot of recognition in the recent Perth Music documentary “Something In The Water” pioneering the shape of our music culture.
