The Upcomming State election is so very boring , The 2 parties are so very similar in the presentation of their information . It is like 2 kids arguing and we the public are just observing from a distance. "my dog is bigger than your dog" seems to be the political catch cry of this election . Both candidates have never won an election before , Alan Carpenter was put into power by default when Geof Gallop retired. as usuall both parties are talking up the 3 big issues
- law and order
- health
- education
The other issues on the agenda are the environment and the other partys stability . as usual we have heard both parties 'bag' each other repeatetly . Every time I hear Troy Busswell I switch off. as to be expected there has been no clear statement from either party about daylight savings. This ellection can be compared to the Olympics (i dont mean to discredit the Olympics) but lots of hype and activity for a smal intense time and then everybody goes back to life as normal pretty much uneffected.

Apathy is unfortunately giving us the governments ‘we deserve’. Perhaps create public events throughout the state where they have to prove themselves, rather than just leaving scrutiny to the media on our behalf?
