Ok, so they have now posted the ‘proper’ footage where Rimmer has been highlighted. She is seen with the Mystery Man (TM), then Lo! and Behold! she vanishes! Just like the reporters said! *jarring chord* But this is only because there’s an unconvincing jump-cut to the next scene: It’s NOT even continuous footage! I note the captions have been removed from this version. This is pure comedy… It’s also irresponsible reporting.

D’oh. I’m adding to the comedy, and ought to proof my own comments. Mea culpa. The mystery man is not shown in the frame before she ‘vanishes’ in the newer video. The point that it’s not continuous still stands. I’ll throw myself on the irresponsible list…

Either way - still makes no sense to me. The bigger story is police releasing the wrong footage - damn that is FAIL.
